The flute studio at Butler Community College has flutists from a wide variety of backgrounds and skill levels. Most major in something other than music, and all are eligible to get full tuition+books scholarships for up to 5 semesters.
Butler Community College Flute Scholarships: Fun Facts!
Activity Scholarships are available for flutists majoring in anything from music to art history to massage therapy to biology.
They cover full in-state tuition and have a book allowance (all books are provided and then returned at the end of each semester).
BCC Instrumental Music Scholarship Audition Guidelines:
Membership in the Concert Band is conditioned primarily on instrumentation needs. A pep band plays for all home football and basketball games. Other ensembles are formed according to student interests. To register for an audition, you'll need to fill out the online registration form on the Fine Arts and Communication Scholarships page.
For your Flute Audition:
Provide a letter of recommendation from a high school music instructor or private teacher (phone call accepted). This is due at the audition.
College band: Etude, solo or excerpt (your choice); sight-reading (committee’s choice); scales.
The R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation and Butler Community College are proud to announce that the amount of this transfer scholarship money given to the Hubbard Award of Excellence winner has significantly increased to $14,000.
This increase demonstrates the Hubbard Foundation’s commitment to student success by recognizing the rising costs of higher education. The Hubbard Award recipient receives a scholarship for four semesters to the institution of their choice after graduating from Butler Community College.
“The Hubbard Award of Excellence personifies quality and superiority. We are eternally grateful to the Hubbard Foundation and Mr. R.D. Hubbard in particular for investing in our most prestigious transfer scholarship.” Chief Advancement Officer Stacy Cofer said.
